Accountant – Construction Project Finance

About the role

The Accountant will be based on‑site in Doha and will handle the day‑to‑day financial operations of a leading construction and design firm. This full‑time position involves bookkeeping, managing payables and receivables, and providing financial insights to support project decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and general ledger entries.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports and budget variance analyses.
• Monitor project costs, budgets and cash‑flow to ensure financial control.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities and assist with internal and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with Qatar/GCC accounting standards and local regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, procurement and senior leadership to deliver clear financial insights.

Required profile

• Strong background in financial accounting, general ledger management and preparation of financial statements.
• Proficiency in budgeting, cost control and project accounting within construction or contracting environments.
• Hands‑on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and cash‑flow management.
• Ability to use accounting/ERP software and advanced MS Excel for analysis and reporting.
• Knowledge of Qatar or GCC accounting standards and local financial regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA, ACCA or similar certification is a plus.
