Adjunct Instructor – Painting & Printmaking (Fall 2026)

About the role

VCUarts Qatar seeks an Adjunct Instructor for the Fall 2026 semester to lead the PAPR 491 Q01 "Speaker Series FANOON" course within the Painting & Printmaking program. The role involves guiding students through contemporary art discussions, facilitating artist talks, and co‑producing a semester publication.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver seminar sessions, lead readings, research, discussions, and critical responses.
• Coordinate public artist talks at Mathaf, including studio visits, workshops, and site‑based engagements.
• Manage class time to focus on contemporary practice, exhibition‑making, and institutional critique.
• Oversee the collaborative creation of a publication documenting the semester’s activities.
• Complete required university training, provide a detailed syllabus, assess assignments, and submit grades on schedule.
• Participate in departmental meetings and uphold university policies.

Required profile

• Terminal degree (MFA) in a relevant field, or a BFA with extensive professional experience equivalent to a terminal degree.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative abilities in a multicultural academic environment.
• Commitment to fostering respect, professionalism, and civility among diverse faculty, staff, and students.
• Eligibility to work in Qatar under local immigration and employment regulations.
