APG Technician – General Mechanic

About the role

Boeing Global Services is looking for an experienced APG Technician / General Mechanic to serve as Crew Chief at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. You will lead complex maintenance activities on tactical aircraft, ensuring airworthiness and compliance with contractual and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on tactical aircraft, including engines, airframes, flight controls, landing gear, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, fuel and weapons systems.
• Lead assembly, disassembly, modification and overhaul of aerospace vehicle components, overseeing removal, replacement and upgrades.
• Direct troubleshooting of complex mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults and verify repairs through validation/verification testing.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections, lubrication, cleaning, adjustments and consumable replacement.
• Execute pre‑flight, post‑flight and periodic inspections, documenting all actions, component life‑cycles and test results.
• Supervise safe handling of aircraft (jacking, towing, system operation) and mentor junior personnel.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a crew chief or senior aircraft mechanic on tactical platforms.
• Ability to work under general direction while leading a team and ensuring compliance with technical manuals and safety regulations.
• Strong documentation skills to record maintenance actions, test results and regulatory compliance.

Required skills

• Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems expertise.
• Aircraft component repair and replacement (engines, landing gear, flight controls, weapons systems).
• Advanced troubleshooting and validation/verification testing.
• Preventive maintenance, inspection and documentation procedures.
