Application Architect

About the role

Define, govern and evolve the enterprise application architecture to ensure applications, integrations, data exchanges and technology choices support GTA business capabilities, digital strategy and target architecture. The role provides architecture direction for application modernisation, solution design and portfolio rationalisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the application portfolio, architecture views, reference architectures and lifecycle roadmaps.
• Assess application health, technical debt, duplication, integration dependencies and alignment to business capabilities.
• Define target‑state architecture, rationalisation recommendations and transition roadmaps.
• Review solution designs, architecture documents and non‑functional requirements for compliance with EA principles.
• Collaborate with solution, data, infrastructure, security and integration teams to ensure coherent end‑to‑end designs.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in application or solution architecture, portfolio management or related roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• TOGAF certification required (strongly preferred) and familiarity with ArchiMate.
