Aquatics Training Supervisor

About the role

The Aquatics Training Supervisor is responsible for the overall safety of guests and colleagues at Meryal, driving a zero‑drowning commitment. Working closely with the Aquatics Director, the role focuses on developing, delivering and continuously improving training programmes for lifeguards and aquatics staff.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Aquatics Director and managers to ensure safe operations across all water attractions.
• Design, implement and maintain initial and ongoing training standards, including ILTP renewals, upgrade courses and dispatch training.
• Conduct daily audits of visual, individual, team skills and scenario performance during operational hours.
• Develop growth, development and recognition programmes that support professional progression within the Aquatics Department.
• Work with the Director of Aquatics to meet key performance indicators related to lifeguard performance and training outcomes.
• Manage expense budgets, revenue targets and KPI appraisal processes for the training team.

Required profile

• Minimum six years of industry experience, including at least three years in the Middle East or international settings.
• Three years of certified lifeguard trainer experience (ILTP Instructor or equivalent) and prior senior management roles such as Assistant Manager, Supervisor or Team Leader.
• Pre‑opening experience in water‑park, theme‑park or cruise‑line environments and proven ability to operate specialised attractions (wave pools, surf pools, zip lines, etc.).
• Experience managing large teams (200+ colleagues) and direct leadership of junior managers.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.

Required skills

• ILTP Instructor or Instructor Trainer certification.
• SGE 1, 2, 3 Star Instructor certification.
