Arabic Culinary & Culture Intern

About the role

Matbakhli is seeking an Arabic Culinary & Culture Intern to research, test, document, and improve Arabic recipes and food content. The role is fully remote and combines hands‑on cooking with AI‑assisted translation, prompt writing, and content evaluation.

Key responsibilities

• Cook and test assigned recipes in a safe home kitchen, recording quantities, methods, timings, yields and observations.
• Research Arab dishes, ingredients, techniques and cultural stories, distinguishing Gulf, Levantine, Egyptian, Iraqi and North‑African traditions.
• Edit Arabic and English recipe titles, descriptions, steps and cultural notes to ensure natural, accurate language.
• Use AI tools to generate first drafts of translations and culinary content, write and refine prompts, and review AI output for hallucinations, incorrect quantities or unsafe instructions.

Required profile

• Current Qatar University student or recent graduate, preferably in International Affairs, History, Arabic, Nutrition, Hospitality, Tourism or related fields.
• Strong written Arabic and English communication skills and genuine hands‑on cooking ability.
• Reliable internet access, a laptop and a safe kitchen for recipe testing.

Required skills

• Experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini or Fanar for translation and content generation.
• Prompt writing and AI‑output evaluation.
• Familiarity with spreadsheets, online forms or content‑management systems.
