Arabic-Speaking Telephone Operator

About the role

IHG Hotels & Resorts is hiring an Arabic-speaking telephone operator for its hotels in Doha, Qatar. The role covers incoming and outgoing calls, guest messages and requests, and overnight switchboard tasks, within a hotel located in a key business district near Hamad International Airport.

Key responsibilities

• Handle incoming and outgoing calls, in-house calls and guest messages, and transfer guests to voicemail or retrieve their messages
• Set up wake-up calls, manage DND and function-room phones, and handle guest requests
• Know general hotel information and speed-dial extensions
• Handle security issues such as fire alarms, bomb threats, calling the house doctor and guest/staff confidentiality
• Assist with guest complaints and receive every call professionally and friendly
• Overnight tasks: daily department reports, line checks, pulse control reports and passing guest requests to the overnight runner
• Respond to crises, run operations manually when the system crashes and follow contingency plans

Required profile

• Minimum 1-2 years in a similar role
• Ability to work multiple shifts including night shift
• Good command of English and Arabic
• Flexibility to respond to a range of work situations
