Assistant Dockmaster (Floating)

About the role

The Assistant Dockmaster (Floating) supports the Dockmaster in daily docking and undocking activities, ensuring safe and efficient vessel movements at the quay and overseeing the operation of floating docks and ship lifts.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Dockmaster with day‑to‑day docking/undocking operations and maintain the logbook.
• Coordinate quay‑side vessel movements and shifting operations.
• Monitor and arrange docks and ship‑lift blocks.
• Support preventive and breakdown maintenance plans, ensuring equipment is well maintained and operational.
• Help maintain floating docks, arrange class surveys, and conduct safety briefings before dock operations.
• Ensure mooring and dock maintenance teams are trained to meet quality, safety, and efficiency standards.
• Maintain documentation and drawings of ship lifts and floating docks in line with Milaha Ship Management guidance.
• Prepare requisitions for spare parts and materials needed for repair and maintenance.
• Assist during the installation of machinery for both ship lifts and floating docks.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Technical Training School Diploma, or Naval Architecture.
• Minimum 4‑5 years of experience assisting in the operation of floating docks and ship lifts.
