Assistant Manager - Restaurant

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Manager to support the day‑to‑day operations of our restaurant. The role involves overseeing both front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house teams, ensuring service excellence, and driving financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure FOH and BOH staff are aware of daily requirements and receive necessary training before opening.
• Coordinate pre‑opening activities, including staffing, training, inventory, menu development, budgeting and marketing to achieve a ready launch date.
• Maintain fair treatment of staff, manage timetables, leave rosters and attendance records.
• Collaborate with the executive chef and bartender on new menu items and beverage lists.
• Oversee purchasing, delivery, storage and inventory control of supplies.
• Manage profit and loss statement, achieve revenue and sales targets across all restaurant areas.
• Schedule service staff based on expected business volume and monitor attendance and absenteeism.
• Control expenses within budget, manage tip distribution and monthly inventory.
• Conduct daily briefings and weekly meetings with the managing partner to ensure smooth operations.
• Lead PR and marketing activities to maximize footfall and sales.
• Generate regular reports on budgets, cost breakdowns and sales performance.
• Uphold health, safety and hygiene standards, including cleaning rotas and emergency procedures.
• Ensure compliance with corporate code of conduct and company values.
