BIM Engineer / Specialist

About the role

Parsons is looking for a BIM Engineer / Specialist to join its team in Qatar. The role supports the implementation, coordination, management and quality control of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes across roads, utilities, drainage and infrastructure projects, working closely with the project team so that BIM models, data and deliverables meet project requirements, standards and client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation and management of BIM processes and workflows across project disciplines.
• Review, coordinate and maintain BIM models for accuracy, completeness and compliance.
• Perform model coordination, identify design clashes, inconsistencies and constructability issues, and support coordination between roads, drainage, utilities, structures, landscape and other disciplines.
• Review contractor BIM deliverables, models and documentation against project standards.
• Assist in developing and maintaining BIM execution plans, model standards and project workflows.
• Coordinate model updates and generate drawings, reports, schedules and quantities from BIM models.
• Support teams in using BIM tools, collaboration platforms and digital workflows, and assist in validating as-built models.
• Monitor BIM quality assurance, coordinate with engineers, designers, contractors and stakeholders, support BIM reporting, and maintain project records and documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, BIM, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• 14 years of professional experience, including 5 years in a similar BIM Engineer / Specialist role.
• Experience supporting BIM implementation and coordination on infrastructure, transportation or construction projects.
• MMUP/MME certification in Qatar.
• Desired: experience delivering major roads, utilities, drainage and infrastructure projects in Qatar or the GCC, familiarity with local authority BIM requirements, and experience on large-scale infrastructure supervision or design projects.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of BIM principles, standards, workflows and model coordination.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360, AutoCAD and related applications.
• Experience with model reviews, clash detection, model coordination and BIM QA.
• Familiarity with BIM execution plans, model management and digital project delivery.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Knowledge of ISO 19650 and BIM information management is desired.
