BMS & Fire Control Center (FCC) Operator

About the role

The Building Management System (BMS) & Fire Control Center (FCC) Operator ensures continuous monitoring, control, and coordination of building automation and life‑safety systems. You will work in a fast‑paced environment, responding to alarms, optimizing HVAC performance, and supporting energy‑efficiency initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control site‑wide BMS platforms (e.g., Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Schneider Electric) to optimize HVAC equipment, energy usage, and set‑point schedules.
• Maintain continuous oversight of fire alarm panels, voice evacuation, sprinkler flow switches, fire pumps, and smoke‑control systems, initiating emergency protocols when required.
• Record, categorize, and log all system alarms, generate digital work orders, and coordinate maintenance technicians for routine inspections or emergency breakdowns.
• Maintain accurate shift logs and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on system uptime, alarm trends, and temperature/humidity compliance.

Required profile

• Diploma, ITI, or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience operating BMS and fire alarm/FCC systems in high‑rise, commercial, or industrial environments.
• Strong decision‑making under pressure, detail‑oriented monitoring, clear verbal communication, and proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Hands‑on proficiency with major BMS software platforms (Desigo CC, Metasys, EBO, Niagara, Tridium).
• Working knowledge of fire alarm hardware (Notifier, Simplex, EST, Siemens) and NFPA/local civil‑defense codes.
• Understanding of HVAC cycles, chilled water plants, electrical distribution, and fire‑suppression systems.
