Business Development Director

About the role

The Business Development Director will drive growth by identifying new market opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and expanding the company’s brand presence. This senior leader will oversee sales, marketing, customer‑service and client‑relationship teams to deliver sustainable revenue growth.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities and markets.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, distributors, partners and vendors.
• Evaluate existing partnerships and sales efforts, improving what works and changing what doesn’t.
• Manage key client relationships while cultivating new ones.
• Lead cross‑functional teams across sales, marketing, customer service and client relationship management.
• Track emerging market trends and propose new services or strategic partnerships.
• Shape long‑term company objectives and develop plans to achieve them.
• Research and recommend new markets, product development, distribution and promotion strategies.
• Identify sponsorship and nonprofit engagement opportunities.
• Conduct webinars and presentations to raise brand or product profile.
• Select prospective vendors, negotiate contracts and travel to vendor locations as needed.
• Respond to RFPs and help guide the development of customer‑facing digital platforms.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior business development or commercial leadership roles.
• Strong track record of building and scaling strategic partnerships.
• Ability to lead and motivate cross‑functional teams.
• Strategic mindset with a focus on long‑term growth and market expansion.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
