Chef de Cuisine

About the role

IHG Hotels & Resorts is looking for a Chef de Cuisine who will lead the kitchen, manage the team and deliver high-quality food and service. The role covers daily kitchen operations, staff leadership, guest experience, responsible business practices and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Run daily kitchen activities, plan and assign work and keep staffing levels right
• Develop the team through coaching and feedback, set performance and development goals and recommend HR actions where needed
• Build a positive working environment by coordinating with other departments and keeping in touch with hotel department heads
• Promote teamwork and quality service, and encourage guest feedback to improve satisfaction
• Answer guest questions about dishes and kitchen services, and help the Food and Beverage Director with event planning
• Keep dishes to the highest standards, watch competitor activity and industry trends, and keep stock safe and replenished to minimise waste
• Ensure equipment and the environment are hygienic and working properly, and follow regulations and company policies
• Prepare forecasts, plans and production reports, help with the annual budget and departmental goals, and maintain costing and documentation of dishes

Required profile

• Degree or certificate in culinary arts
• 3 years' experience as a chef
• At least one year in a supervisory capacity, or an equivalent mix of education and kitchen operations experience
• Fluent in the local language(s)
