Chief Executive Officer – Downstream Oil & Gas

About the role

The CEO provides enterprise leadership of the downstream oil and gas business, with full accountability for refining, marketing, trading, distribution, and retail operations across domestic and international markets.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the downstream strategy across refining, marketing, trading, and distribution to maximize margins and business value.
• Oversee refinery operations to ensure optimal yields, cost efficiency, availability, and compliance with product specifications.
• Provide executive leadership over product marketing, trading, pricing, and sales strategies to optimize revenue and market positioning.
• Ensure reliable and efficient movement of products across terminals, pipelines, depots, logistics networks, and customer channels.
• Drive customer‑centric strategies that strengthen brand positioning, retail performance, and channel effectiveness.
• Exercise authority over downstream capital investment and cost management to support margin growth and operational resilience.
• Set enterprise standards for environmental performance, product quality, and regulatory compliance across downstream operations.
• Lead downstream governance, risk management, and assurance frameworks to ensure transparent reporting and strong controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Energy Management, or a related field.
• Professional certifications or executive credentials in refining operations, trading, supply chain management, risk management, or corporate governance are advantageous.
• Extensive executive experience leading large‑scale downstream oil and gas businesses with full P&L and capital accountability.
• Proven track record across refining, marketing, trading, distribution, or retail operations within complex, multi‑market environments.
• Senior leadership exposure managing executive teams, Boards, and external stakeholders at enterprise level.
