Commercial Assurance Director
Power International Holding · Doha
Job description
About the role
The Commercial & Revenue Assurance Lead owns the commercial and cash lens across the portfolio, including cash flow, work‑in‑progress (WIP), certification, and collections. This role interrogates entity‑reported commercial figures, acting as the first line of defence to identify losses, uncertified earned‑value gaps, and ageing receivables before they reach leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Validate cash flow, WIP and collections positions by cross‑checking reported figures against source documentation.
- Identify uncertified earned value caused by internal submission failures rather than client disputes.
- Own and manage commercial and contractual exposure items within the EPMO Issues Log.
- Investigate and escalate significant changes in reported commercial figures lacking supporting explanation.
- Challenge reported numbers and commercial assumptions to ensure accuracy, transparency and accountability.
- Provide independent commercial assurance across the project portfolio and highlight emerging risks.
- Analyse IPC certification cycles, BOQ structures, variation orders and claims management.
- Assess commercial substance of FIDIC‑style contract notices, rejection letters and dispute correspondence.
Required profile
- 10+ years experience in contractor‑side commercial, quantity surveying or commercial management.
- Experience on major construction projects and within multi‑entity or international delivery environments.
- Proven success improving WIP, collections performance, cash flow or overall commercial outcomes.
- Comfortable working across multiple currencies, jurisdictions and operating environments.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm and proven use of AI to detect cash‑flow anomalies, accelerate variation or claims reviews, and support issue resolution.
- Naturally skeptical, evidence‑driven mindset with a “show me the certification” approach.
- Highly detail‑oriented and able to translate complex findings into concise executive‑level insights.
- Strong commercial acumen and clear business‑focused communication.
Required skills
- IPC certification cycle knowledge
- BOQ structure analysis
- Variation order and claims management
- Cost‑value reconciliation
- FIDIC contract mechanisms assessment
- CPI and EAC metric analysis
- Work‑in‑Progress (WIP) fundamentals
- Collections and receivables ageing analysis
- AI‑driven commercial and revenue assurance tools
