Commercial Assurance Director

About the role

The Commercial & Revenue Assurance Lead owns the commercial and cash lens across the portfolio, ensuring cash flow, work‑in‑progress, certification and collections are accurate and evidence‑based. This senior position acts as the first line of defence to identify losses, uncertified earned‑value gaps and ageing receivables before they reach leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Validate cash flow, WIP and collections positions across priority projects by cross‑checking reported figures against source documentation.
• Identify uncertified earned value caused by internal submission failures and own commercial exposure items within the EPMO Issues Log.
• Investigate and escalate significant changes in reported commercial figures lacking supporting explanation.
• Challenge reported numbers and commercial assumptions to ensure accuracy, transparency and accountability.
• Provide independent commercial assurance across the project portfolio and highlight emerging risks before they impact performance.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in contractor‑side commercial, quantity surveying or commercial management.
• Strong knowledge of IPC certification cycles, BOQ structures, variation orders, claims management and FIDIC‑style contracts.
• Deep understanding of CPI, EAC metrics and WIP fundamentals from a contractor’s perspective.
• Experience working across multiple currencies, jurisdictions and international project delivery environments.
• Genuine enthusiasm for using AI as a core professional tool with proven examples of AI‑driven cash‑flow anomaly detection or variation review acceleration.
