Commercial Operations Manager – MRO

About the role

Qatar Airways is looking for an experienced Commercial Operations Manager to lead the commercial management of third‑party Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) contracts within its MRO Programs Department in Doha. You will be the primary commercial point of contact for all active maintenance events, ensuring contract compliance, cost control and on‑time delivery while supporting business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the commercial lead for third‑party maintenance execution, overseeing heavy checks, component repairs, modifications and technical support.
• Monitor contract performance, milestones, turnaround times and customer commitments throughout the maintenance lifecycle.
• Evaluate defect hours, variation orders and additional work requests, assessing their commercial impact.
• Conduct capability and capacity assessments for new maintenance opportunities in collaboration with planning, engineering, finance and CAMO teams.
• Provide commercial recommendations on acceptance of new work based on profitability and resource availability.
• Serve as the primary customer‑facing commercial representative, managing expectations through transparent communication and proactive issue resolution.

Required profile

• Significant experience in commercial management of aviation MRO contracts.
• Strong understanding of MRO operational processes and contract compliance.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, planning, finance and CAMO teams.
• Excellent stakeholder and customer relationship management skills.
