Commissioning Lead (Onshore Telecom)

About the role

The Commissioning Lead (Onshore Telecom) will oversee all pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities for the Telecom discipline executed offshore by the EPC contractor. This is a long‑term, 36‑month contract based on‑site in Qatar, working six days a week (10 hours per day). The role reports to the Head of Commissioning and requires close coordination with contractors, vendors and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities for the Telecom discipline executed offshore by the EPC contractor.
• Monitor and verify the EPC contractor’s completion, preservation and hand‑over documentation, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
• Coordinate weekly progress meetings with CTR counterparts, contractors and vendors, and report status to senior management.
• Manage mechanical completion (MC), construction start‑up approval (CSA) and ready‑for‑service (RFSU) documentation, including punch‑list creation, categorisation and clearance.
• Support supervisors during simultaneous platform activities and act as liaison during shutdown and brownfield operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of large‑project commissioning experience in the oil & gas industry, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or oversight role.
• Strong knowledge of completion certificate types, punch‑list categorisation and HSE hand‑over practices.
• Proven ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.

Required skills

• Experience with Completion Management Systems such as PIMS, WinPCS, ICAPS or Hexagon.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Fluent English communication (reading, writing, speaking).
