Commissioning Manager

About the role

The Commissioning Manager will lead the commissioning phase of the North Field South Onshore Project in Ras Laffan, Qatar. Reporting to the Major Projects leadership team, you will coordinate with the EPC contractor to ensure safe, on‑time delivery while meeting all SHES, quality, cost and schedule requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the EPC contractor’s commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, Qatari regulations and RLIC standards.
• Align EPC and PMT commissioning teams, resolve technical misalignments promptly, and oversee SIMOPS coordination with adjacent projects.
• Review, verify and approve commissioning deliverables and datasets produced by the EPC contractor.
• Drive a strong safety culture through the “Ihtimam (We Care)” program across all site personnel.
• Identify and mitigate engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning risks using the Advanced Work Packing process (Easy Suite).
• Allocate PMT commissioning manpower within a matrix organization and collaborate with Project and Functional Managers.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in engineering, procurement and construction phases of large‑scale oil & gas projects.
• At least 5 years in a supervisory role overseeing service/vendor personnel and commissioning execution.
• Proven experience managing EPC contractors and large‑scale commissioning programmes.
• Strong knowledge of SHES, quality, cost control and schedule management in the oil & gas sector.
• Ability to manage complex site logistics, camp operations and SIMOPS activities.
