Compliance Officer – FATCA/CRS

About the role

The Compliance Officer will support the Manager of FATCA/CRS & International Compliance in overseeing the implementation of FATCA and the OECD Common Reporting Standard across Doha Bank’s operations in Qatar, the UAE, Kuwait and India. The role ensures that customer onboarding, reporting and internal processes meet regulatory requirements and that all submissions are accurate and timely.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in rolling out FATCA and CRS regulations across all branches, coordinating with stakeholders to meet regulatory timelines.
• Support updates to customer onboarding procedures and IT systems to capture required FATCA/CRS data.
• Prepare and submit FATCA and CRS regulatory reports in collaboration with IT, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Liaise with Qatar Central Bank, General Tax Authority, Ministry of Finance, US IRS and other regulators, responding to queries promptly.
• Maintain a database of regulatory circulars and ensure appropriate actions are taken.
• Conduct control testing of new customer accounts for compliance and initiate corrective actions where needed.
• Validate FATCA/CRS information for correspondent banking relationships during setup and annual reviews.
• Identify compliance risks, prepare reports and support remediation efforts.
• Develop and deliver FATCA/CRS training and awareness programs for staff across all locations.
• Assist in updating policies, procedures, presentations and e‑learning materials.

Required profile

• University degree in Finance, Law, Accounting or related field.
• Strong understanding of FATCA, CRS and international tax compliance.
• Experience working in a banking or financial institution with regulatory reporting responsibilities.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with regulators and internal teams.

Required skills

• Knowledge of FATCA and CRS regulatory frameworks.
• Familiarity with banking onboarding processes and correspondent banking relationships.
• Ability to work with IT teams on system enhancements for data capture.
