Compliance Officer

About the role

MyFatoorah Qatar is looking for a Compliance Officer to oversee its compliance and governance framework. The role ensures adherence to Qatar Central Bank requirements, applicable laws, acquiring bank obligations and payment scheme rules.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor regulatory, licensing, acquiring bank and payment scheme compliance.
• Develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Conduct compliance monitoring, gap assessments and reviews across business operations.
• Oversee merchant onboarding, KYC/CDD and ongoing merchant compliance in coordination with AML and Operations.
• Liaise with acquiring banks and payment schemes, and coordinate regulatory inspections, audits and reporting.
• Track regulatory and scheme changes, coordinate implementation, escalate breaches and follow remediation actions through to closure.
• Prepare management reports, provide compliance guidance and awareness, and support Group compliance initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Law or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of compliance experience, preferably in banking, payments or financial services.
• Experience with Qatar Central Bank requirements, acquiring bank obligations and payment scheme rules preferred.
• Relevant professional certification such as an ICA qualification, CCEP or equivalent preferred; CAMS is an added advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of KYC/CDD, merchant compliance and compliance monitoring.
• Strong analytical, documentation, reporting, communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
