Construction Manager – Infrastructure, Civil & Build

About the role

Construction Manager at Mace, joining the aviation programme team to lead the safe and successful delivery of major construction packages within a complex, live operational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage construction delivery activities across multiple project packages.
• Monitor contractor performance against specifications, quality standards and programme commitments.
• Oversee site execution, construction sequencing, logistics planning and coordination.
• Ensure safe delivery in line with HSE requirements and industry best practice.
• Coordinate site interfaces between contractors, consultants, client stakeholders and operational teams.
• Review schedules, progress reports and recovery plans, implementing risk mitigation.
• Lead site inspections, quality reviews, testing, commissioning and handover activities.
• Chair site meetings and resolve technical and delivery issues.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related discipline.
• Professional membership (CIOB, ICE, RICS, PMI) desirable.
• Significant experience managing large‑scale building, infrastructure, transportation or aviation projects.
• Proven track record delivering projects through the construction phase.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, site logistics and quality assurance.
• Experience administering construction contracts and managing consultant/contractor performance.
• Strong HSE management knowledge and ability to implement safe systems of work.
