Construction Supervisor - Piping and Civil Works

About the role

This Construction Supervisor oversees the execution of piping and plant modification works within upstream projects at various facilities, covering both onshore and offshore sites. The role plans and coordinates civil and structural works, supervises contractors and subcontractors, and supports the Lead Project Engineer in reporting progress and issues.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee timely and effective piping and plant modification work in line with project specifications, policies, method statements and schedules.
• Plan and coordinate civil and structural works such as buildings, finishing, concrete and steel structures, excavations, backfilling, dewatering, rebar, formworks and concreting.
• Estimate man-hour requirements, plan work schedules, assign and direct subordinates, and attend the site during assigned tasks.
• Coordinate with main and primary contractors, allocate work to teams and hold pre-task safety talks.
• Review civil and structural problems with the Civil Engineer and delegate resolution to technicians.
• Prepare and review method statements, work instructions, material approval requests and risk mitigation procedures before approval.
• Monitor QA/QC of contractor and subcontractor work against energy standards, attend stage-wise RFI calls and clear work.
• Take part in site progress meetings, highlight technical and constructability issues to the contractor, and support the Lead Project Engineer in weekly progress reports, resource needs, drawings and schedule look-aheads.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Piping or Civil) from a recognised institution.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in piping or civil engineering in a large manufacturing facility in the oil and gas sector.
• Additional technical or management qualifications or certifications in onshore construction or piping are an advantage.
