Cost Control Specialist

About the role

Responsible for planning, monitoring, and controlling project costs throughout the lifecycle of oil and gas construction projects, ensuring cost efficiency, budget compliance, and accurate financial reporting to support informed decision-making. The specialist will work closely with planning, procurement, engineering and construction teams to ensure accurate cost data capture and timely invoicing.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the project cost control system, including budgets and cost breakdown structures.
• Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets and highlight variances.
• Prepare and issue periodic cost reports (weekly/monthly) and coordinate with the planning/scheduling team.
• Review and validate contractor/subcontractor invoices and manage change order tracking.
• Prepare and submit monthly invoices to the client and follow up on approvals and payments.

Required profile

• 10‑12 years of relevant experience in cost control/project controls, with at least 5 years in oil & gas construction/EPC projects.
• BE/BTech in Civil, Mechanical, Quantity Surveying, Finance or a related field.
• Proven experience with large‑scale projects and strong knowledge of EPC contract structures (Lump Sum, Reimbursable, Unit Rate).
• Excellent understanding of Earned Value Management and strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
