Cyber Security Certification Lead

About the role

The Cyber Security Certification Lead is responsible for steering the end‑to‑end delivery of national‑level cybersecurity certification programmes and assurance services. This senior position translates strategic objectives into actionable projects, ensures consistent audit methodologies, and drives continuous improvement across certification operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of all certification services and programmes from planning to execution.
• Oversee certification review assessments and critical sector audits.
• Develop, monitor and enhance standardized audit methodologies, practices and certification standards.
• Translate departmental strategic direction into concrete projects and initiatives.
• Plan, build and operate cybersecurity certification standards and related assurance mechanisms.
• Prioritise and manage projects within the Certification Services portfolio, ensuring timely delivery.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement, public events, and collaboration with internal and external partners.
• Mentor, manage and develop the certification team to improve service delivery.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Risk Management or a related field, or at least 15 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in cybersecurity assessment, IT auditing or certification roles.
• Strong background in cybersecurity governance, risk and compliance.
• Professional certifications such as CISA, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, COBIT, CRISC or CGEIT are preferred.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of cybersecurity standards: ISO 27001, NIA, COBIT, Common Criteria.
• Understanding of accreditation frameworks: ISO 17021, ISO 17024, ISO 17065, ISO 17025, ISO 27006.
• Experience developing standards, SOPs, audit documentation and technical directives.
• Proven risk‑management and compliance‑assessment capabilities.
• Project‑management expertise delivering initiatives on time, within scope and budget.
