Development Engineer Level 2 – Technical Services

About the role

Qatar Airways is looking for a Development Engineer Level 2 to join the Engineering Technical Services department in Doha. The engineer will provide timely, accurate and compliant engineering support for day‑to‑day fleet operations, ensuring continuous airworthiness, aircraft availability and safe recovery from technical disruptions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational engineering support following approved Technical Services processes and shift/on‑call arrangements.
• Act as the focal point for assigned aircraft defects, technical incidents, delays and operational disruptions, reviewing logs and maintenance data to determine safe actions.
• Support Line, Light and Heavy Maintenance with technical guidance within authorized limits.
• Manage Aircraft on Ground (AOG) events from assessment through recovery, coordinating with OEMs, MROs and approved design organisations.
• Prepare and process engineering documents such as Service Work Requests, engineering approvals, technical instructions and investigation reports.
• Monitor defect trends and contribute to predictive maintenance and reliability improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or Aeronautical Engineering, or holder of an ICAO Type II licence.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in airworthiness, reliability or technical support within a continuing airworthiness maintenance organisation.
• Good knowledge of aircraft systems, power‑plant and structures, preferably on aircraft types operated by Qatar Airways.
• Experience using Airbus Technical Request and Boeing Service Request applications.
• Familiarity with company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
