Director of Rooms

About the role

The Director of Rooms leads all rooms‑division departments, ensuring seamless operations, exceptional guest experiences and achievement of financial targets for our hotel in Doha. This senior position combines strategic planning, profit‑and‑loss responsibility and talent development across front office, housekeeping and related services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the hotel’s strategic plan, prepare budgets and monitor revenue, profit and loss performance.
• Coordinate with Revenue Management and Sales to maximise occupancy, rates and market share.
• Oversee labour cost controls, duty rosters and productivity while maintaining quality standards.
• Lead talent development initiatives, create career plans, conduct interviews and mentor high‑potential staff.
• Ensure compliance with Kempinski policies, safety procedures and LQA/Forbes inspection standards.
• Conduct daily walk‑throughs, monitor technical conditions of rooms‑division areas and maintain high visibility with guests and employees.

Required profile

• Proven senior management experience in hotel rooms‑division operations, with a track record of meeting budgeted profitability and occupancy targets.
• Strong leadership and people‑development skills, including experience in talent identification, coaching and cross‑departmental assignments.
• Excellent analytical abilities to manage budgets, labour costs and revenue optimisation.
• Ability to uphold Kempinski Guest Experience standards and achieve high scores in CSS, LQA and employee satisfaction surveys.
