Division Chief Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Surgery

About the role

Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Cardiovascular Diseases, the Division Chief leads clinical, educational, research and executive management for pediatric and congenital cardiac surgery at Sidra Medicine. The role combines strategic planning, resource management and high‑quality patient care for both elective and emergent cases.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the division’s strategic vision, business plans and growth initiatives.
• Oversee clinical service delivery, ensuring appropriate call coverage, OR scheduling and efficient use of resources.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration with anesthesia, allied health and referring clinicians.
• Manage the division’s budget, financial performance and regulatory compliance with JCI and Qatar health authorities.
• Drive quality improvement through participation in the National Surgical Quality Improvement Project (NSQIP) and continuous outcome monitoring.

Required profile

• Established academic pediatric and congenital cardiac surgeon with a proven track record.
• Demonstrated leadership in clinical service planning, mentorship and staff development.
• Experience collaborating with medical school faculty and supporting undergraduate and resident education.
