DP Mathematics Teacher (Applications & Interpretation)

About the role

Etqan Global Academy in Doha is seeking an enthusiastic DP Mathematics Teacher to deliver the IB Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation course at Standard Level and/or Higher Level. The successful candidate will inspire students to use mathematics as a tool for real‑world problem solving and support their preparation for IB examinations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging DP Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation lessons aligned with IB curriculum and assessment requirements.
• Develop students' mathematical thinking, modelling, statistical literacy and effective use of technology.
• Manage the Internal Assessment (Mathematical Exploration) process, providing guidance, support and feedback.
• Prepare students for IB external examinations through data‑informed teaching and rigorous practice.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those with additional needs or EAL.
• Teach MYP Mathematics where timetabled, maintaining inquiry‑based approaches.
• Contribute to the Mathematics department and wider school community.

Required profile

• Recognised teaching qualification and a degree in Mathematics or a closely related discipline.
• Proven experience teaching IB DP Mathematics, preferably the Applications and Interpretation pathway.
• Knowledge of IB DP assessment, Internal Assessment processes and examination preparation.
• Strong classroom management, communication and differentiation skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
• Ability to meet visa requirements for working in Qatar.
• IB DP Mathematics workshop training and international school experience are desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Graphing Display Calculators (GDC).
• Effective use of mathematical software to support learning.
