Electrical Design Engineer – LV Switchgear

About the role

WRKFORCE is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer specialised in low‑voltage (LV) switchgear for a full‑time position in Qatar. The role involves designing LV switchgear and control panels, preparing shop drawings and ensuring compliance with IEC standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop LV switchgear and electrical control panels according to project specifications.
• Prepare detailed electrical design drawings, schematics, layouts and shop drawings for manufacturing and installation.
• Develop MDB, SMDB, MCC, ATS, DB and various control panel designs.
• Review technical specifications, single‑line diagrams, load schedules and project requirements.
• Ensure designs comply with IEC standards, project specifications and engineering requirements.
• Coordinate with project, production, procurement and site teams to resolve design and technical issues.
• Review and incorporate drawing revisions based on client, consultant or project feedback.
• Support preparation of technical documentation and deliver accurate drawings within project timelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3–7 years of experience in electrical design, preferably in LV switchgear, panel manufacturing or electrical contracting.
• Hands‑on experience designing LV switchgear and panels, with strong knowledge of MDB, SMDB, MCC, ATS and control panels.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other electrical design/drafting software.
• Good working knowledge of IEC standards and electrical design practices.
• Experience preparing shop drawings and technical electrical documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and single‑line diagrams.
