Electrical Engineer I

About the role

The Electrical Engineer I provides maintenance engineering support for offshore and onshore oil‑and‑gas facilities within the Field Operations Maintenance & Inspection (FOPS) framework. Based in Doha, Qatar, the role is a permanent on‑site position that includes regular offshore trips and visits to contractor sites.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Electrical & HVAC team activities safely and in line with NOC rules, specifications and preventive/corrective maintenance procedures.
• Provide first‑level technical advice to Tier‑1 operation centre and offshore personnel, including troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis and equipment repair coordination.
• Manage planning, preparation, execution and close‑out of PM/CM tasks, ensuring high equipment reliability and availability.
• Oversee repair processes for critical equipment, liaise with vendors, and control budgets for electrical and HVAC maintenance projects.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or recognized technical qualification with offshore/onshore oil‑and‑gas experience.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, supervisory experience considered an advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural, highly technical environment and apply industry process‑safety guidelines.
• Medically fit to travel to offshore platforms and possess strong written and oral communication skills.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with offshore electrical systems: transformers, switchgear, MCC, motors, generators and HVAC equipment.
• Proficient in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and SAP Maintenance module.
• Skilled in root‑cause analysis, equipment troubleshooting and maintenance planning.
• Ability to produce cost estimates, manage service contracts and control project budgets.
