Electrical Engineer – Plants, Major Projects

About the role

The Electrical Engineer will support the Head of Electrical in delivering major plant projects, ensuring that all electrical designs and implementations align with company strategy and project contracts. This position provides technical guidance, problem‑solving and analytical support across the electrical portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee design of substations, switchgear, transformers and emergency power systems.
• Review single‑line diagrams, load lists, cable schedules and protection coordination studies.
• Ensure compliance with IEC standards and EPCC contract requirements.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities and track progress of deliverables.
• Review and comment on technical documentation from EPCC contractors.
• Participate in kick‑off meetings, monitor fabrication progress and resolve NCRs.
• Collaborate with construction teams to verify proper installation.
• Manage engineering interfaces for commissioning, spare‑parts review and risk registers.
• Support HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, QRA and 3D model reviews and audit preparation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry, or an EPC environment.
