Electrical Technician

About the role

The Electrical Technician will carry out maintenance and modification work on a wide range of electrical equipment used in oil & gas assets, ensuring safe operation and compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and modification on HV/MV/LV power and distribution transformers, switchboards, switchgear, cables and terminations.
• Service MV/LV motor control centers (MCCs), motors, PLCs, VFDs, UPS systems, lighting, cathodic protection, hoists and flare electrical systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical problems, reading single‑line diagrams, control schematics and flow charts.
• Use testing and calibration instruments such as multimeters and insulation testers (Megger) for maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, work‑permit and lock‑out‑tag‑out (LOTO) procedures in oil & gas plants.

Required profile

• Technical Diploma in the respective trade (12+3 years).
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on electrical maintenance experience in oil & gas, petrochemical or fertilizer industry.
• Familiarity with hazardous chemicals/materials used in oil & gas and safe installation/maintenance practices.
• Knowledge of work‑permit systems and lock‑out‑tag‑out (LOTO) procedures.
