Engineering Lead (Piping - Field)

About the role

The Engineering Lead (Piping – Field) is responsible for overseeing the on‑shore EPC contractor in the delivery of all piping design, equipment, material, technical and execution activities. The role ensures that all technical requirements, specifications and data sheets are fully compliant with project needs and that the process design supports the complete production life‑cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the EPC contractor and the Piping Field Engineering team to deliver design, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning in line with project requirements.
• Validate and control the preparation of piping scope of work, design procedures, deliverables and alternative studies to optimise cost and schedule.
• Coordinate multi‑discipline engineering activities and ensure alignment with the Head of Piping.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, standards, and the Project Management System.
• Assess EPC contractor capability, monitor progress, and recommend additional technical support when gaps are identified.
• Oversee technical attachments, contract scope descriptions and timely issuance of purchase orders.
• Maintain constructive relationships with subcontractors, vendors, operations, SHE and quality stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing EPC contracts and large‑scale piping projects, including cryogenic, high‑pressure steam and sour‑gas services.
• Strong ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
• Solid understanding of project specifications, data sheets and compliance requirements.
• Excellent organisational and scheduling skills to meet milestones and deliverables.
