Engineering Technician

About the role

The Engineering Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all mechanical and electrical systems within the hotel. You will work across guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house facilities to ensure that all equipment functions correctly and that any issues are resolved promptly.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration and boiler systems.
• Perform routine repairs in guest rooms and public areas, including unclogging drains, fixing hardware, and servicing lamps, air‑conditioners and cosmetic items.
• Maintain and secure all tools and equipment, ensuring proper storage after each shift.
• Monitor fire alarm, life‑safety, sprinkler and emergency power systems, responding to alarms and reporting to supervisors.
• Track energy and utility usage, propose conservation ideas, and record meter readings (electric, water, LPG, swimming‑pool).
• Respond to emergencies, protect guests and property, and restore normal operations as quickly as possible.
• Log daily activities, maintain preventive‑maintenance schedules, and follow shift hand‑over procedures.
• Adhere to safety standards, identify hazards, and take corrective action.

Required profile

• Ability to liaise effectively with Front Office, Housekeeping, Security, Health Club, Kitchen and other departments.
• Strong record‑keeping skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized work environment.
• Willingness to work any shift and be on‑call for emergencies.
