About the role

The English Teacher will join Durham School for Girls in Qatar, delivering high‑quality, engaging English lessons that meet UK Teaching Standards and align with the school’s MARK values and Qatari Ministry of Education requirements. The role supports both academic achievement and personal development while fostering a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging English lessons for diverse learners.
• Develop and implement curriculum plans that meet subject standards and assessment objectives.
• Adapt resources and instructional strategies to accommodate varied learning needs.
• Incorporate appropriate technology and innovative tools to enhance student‑led learning.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback on student progress.
• Continuously assess learning outcomes and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Report any curriculum or resource conflicts with DSGD/MARK or Qatari cultural values to line management.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere and manage behaviour expectations.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher familiar with UK Teaching Standards.
• Understanding of Qatari Ministry of Education policies and cultural expectations.
• Commitment to professional conduct, collaboration, and continuous development.
• Ability to support student well‑being and high‑performance learning strategies.
