English Teacher – Secondary (Key Stages 3‑5) in Qatar

About the role

Amethyst Education is partnering with a respected British international school in Qatar to recruit an enthusiastic English Teacher for the secondary department starting September 2026. The role involves delivering the English National Curriculum to Key Stages 3 and 4, with occasional Key Stage 5 teaching.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess engaging English lessons aligned with the English National Curriculum.
• Foster a love of reading, writing and literature while encouraging critical thinking.
• Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback and differentiate instruction.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and school initiatives.
• Contribute to extracurricular and enrichment activities.

Required profile

• Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, BEd or equivalent) with QTS or equivalent.
• Degree in English or a closely related subject.
• Strong understanding of the English National Curriculum.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Passion for inspiring young learners and commitment to professional development.
