Environmental Officer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Environmental Officer to ensure our projects in Doha comply with all environmental regulations and sustainability standards. The role involves overseeing environmental performance on construction and infrastructure sites and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure site compliance with environmental laws, permits, and project requirements.
• Implement and maintain the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Monitor air, dust, noise, water, wastewater, soil and other environmental impacts, and manage waste segregation, storage, recycling and disposal.
• Maintain accurate environmental records, permits, reports and monitoring data, and prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports.
• Investigate incidents, spills, complaints and non‑conformities, and coordinate with clients, consultants, authorities, laboratories and waste contractors.
• Deliver environmental awareness training, toolbox talks and monitor subcontractor compliance.
• Support ISO 14001 audits, track environmental KPIs and contribute to sustainability initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in construction, infrastructure, oil & gas, MEP or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, waste management, pollution control and monitoring.
• Excellent communication, reporting and documentation skills.
