Estimator – Construction Tender & Cost Specialist

About the role

The Estimator is responsible for producing realistic, accurate and competitive cost estimates for quotations and tenders on incoming enquiries. The role requires timely handling of enquiries, detailed analysis of supply chain quotes, and close collaboration with internal teams to ensure successful tender submissions.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and review contract enquiries, develop pricing plans and meet deadline requirements.
• Clarify scope with clients to ensure quote accuracy and align with expectations.
• Coordinate with line manager and team to define overall tender strategy.
• Send enquiries to the supply chain, select suitable suppliers and manufacturing locations.
• Gather support from other departments to produce programmes and quality submissions.
• Analyze supplier quotes, negotiate costs, and compare terms with tender best practices.
• Prepare tender analysis, present findings internally and to clients, and install detailed cost data for contract review.
• Monitor tenders, attend client meetings, and identify risks or opportunities in specifications, drawings and bills of materials.
• Participate in hand‑over meetings with operational and commercial teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in the fit‑out industry, preferably in Qatar.
• Technical degree (B.Tech, B.E.) or relevant diploma.
• Strong knowledge of the full tender process and value engineering.
• Proven ability to analyse trade comparisons and negotiate with suppliers.
• Excellent time‑management and ability to work both independently and within a team.
• Fluent business English, both written and spoken.
