Experienced Accountant – General Accounting (5+ yrs)

About the role

We are looking for an Accountant with a minimum of 5 years of relevant General Accounting experience to oversee and support day‑to‑day accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, month‑end and year‑end closing activities, and audit requirements. The role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with internal departments.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date financial records, ledgers, and accounting documentation.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, provisions, and adjustments.
• Lead and support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing activities.
• Manage and review Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions.
• Perform and review bank, balance sheet, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Monitor cash flow, expenses, and financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and assist with monthly financial statements, management reports, and financial analysis.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost‑control activities.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with internal departments to resolve accounting discrepancies and finance‑related matters.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required schedules, reports, and documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant General Accounting experience, preferably in a structured corporate environment in Qatar.
• Native‑level proficiency in Arabic and English (both verbal and written).
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders.
• Currently based in Qatar.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month‑end closing procedures.
• Experience handling AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting/ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
