Fashion Designer

About the role

Northumbria Education is hiring a full-time, on-site Fashion Designer based in Doha. The designer develops original clothing and accessory concepts, creates sketches and technical drawings, and selects fabrics, trims and materials aligned with brand and educational objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Research current trends and collaborate with educators and other designers on curriculum-linked projects
• Create sketches, technical drawings, samples and mood boards
• Support the production of prototypes and refine designs based on feedback
• Ensure quality and consistency in all outputs and contribute to fashion-related workshops or learning activities

Required profile

• Demonstrated fashion design ability, including sketching, garment construction concepts and creative concept development
• Relevant academic background in Fashion Design or a closely related field
• Professional portfolio showcasing recent work
• Experience in educational settings or mentoring learners is an advantage, as is prior work in international or culturally diverse environments

Required skills

• Trend research, mood board creation and collection planning
• Proficiency with design and illustration tools such as Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop
• Knowledge of textiles, fabric properties, color theory and basic pattern-making
• Effective communication and strong organization to manage multiple design projects to deadline
