Field Service Engineer – DeltaV DCS & AMS (Qatar)

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer you will deliver technical support and engineering services for DeltaV Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Asset Management Solutions (AMS) across Qatar and regional sites. You will be the primary on‑site contact, handling installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance while ensuring system reliability and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical contact for customers, supporting service contracts, system upgrades and project execution.
• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and system enhancements on DeltaV platforms.
• Execute on‑site services including modifications, cybersecurity assessments and system evaluations.
• Lead commissioning, start‑ups, site surveys and produce technical documentation.
• Coordinate with global support teams and engineering experts to resolve complex technical challenges.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians, and identify service and product improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Control Systems, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation or related engineering field.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Ability to travel internationally (approximately 25–40%) and perform on‑site service activities.
• Proactive problem‑solver with strong organizational skills.
• Commitment to health, safety and environmental policies.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with DeltaV configuration, commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of industrial control systems, DCS/PLC programming and process automation.
• Familiarity with communication protocols such as OPC, Modbus and industrial fieldbus technologies.
• Experience with cybersecurity assessments, alarm management and control‑loop tuning.
• Understanding of IT/OT networking and industrial cybersecurity practices.
