FSTD Systems Support Engineer II

About the role

The FSTD Systems Support Engineer II provides expert technical support for Flight Simulator Training Devices (FSTDs) and related training equipment. You will ensure devices are operational, maintain high readiness standards, and contribute to continuous improvement of simulation systems.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑site technical support for FSTDs, including maintenance calls, device setup, conversions, demonstrations, flight tests and snag clearance.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks, daily readiness checks, QTG runs, Aircraft Database updates and IOS lesson‑plan updates.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, including AOG events and regulator‑driven concerns.
• Execute hardware refurbishments, modifications and develop permanent corrective solutions.
• Use CMMS to record, track and monitor deficiencies; monitor SimHub and SimIssues for updates.
• Produce performance and trend reports for management.
• Assume roles such as Shift Lead, Team Lead, Device or Task Caretaker and manage associated responsibilities autonomously.
• Create, improve and update procedures and guidelines for routine and non‑routine tasks.
• Mentor junior colleagues and provide on‑the‑job training.

Required profile

• Technical College Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of experience supporting flight simulation training devices or comparable technical systems.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong customer orientation and professional demeanor.
