General Manager – Qatar (Paints & Coatings)

About the role

Our client, a growing industrial business in the Middle East paints and coatings market, is seeking a General Manager for Qatar. The role carries full P&L responsibility and will lead the commercial strategy, growth and overall leadership of the Qatar operation.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full P&L for the Qatar business, including revenue, margins, cash and working capital.
• Develop and execute the annual business strategy, budget and operating plan aligned with Group objectives.
• Drive commercial growth through market development, key‑account management, new business and channel development.
• Lead pricing, product mix and customer profitability initiatives to ensure sustainable performance.
• Provide leadership across Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Technical/R&D, Quality and HR.
• Oversee operational and manufacturing performance to support commercial growth.
• Maintain strong control over budgets, costs, receivables, inventory and working capital.
• Lead, develop and retain a high‑performing local management team.

Required profile

• 15+ years progressive commercial/business experience, preferably in paints & coatings, specialty chemicals or related industrial sectors.
• Previous senior leadership role such as General Manager, Country Manager or Commercial Director with full P&L ownership.
• Proven track record of commercial growth, market development and channel expansion.
• Deep knowledge of the Qatar market, customers, distributors and competitive landscape.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, pricing and cash management.
• Leadership capability to manage multidisciplinary teams and drive cross‑functional execution.
