Grade 2 Homeroom Teacher

About the role

The Hayat Universal School is seeking a dedicated Grade 2 Homeroom Teacher to deliver the British Columbia Canada Ministry of Education curriculum in Doha. The role involves planning and delivering differentiated instruction, fostering a culturally respectful environment, and supporting student inquiry.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement yearly, unit, weekly and daily instruction aligned with the British Columbia curriculum.
• Use effective teaching strategies and school‑mandated frameworks to create differentiated learning experiences.
• Organise enrichment activities such as field trips, showcases, concerts, plays and productions.
• Communicate assignments and objectives clearly to students.
• Assign homework that extends classroom learning and is appropriate to age and ability.
• Diagnose and support students who struggle to meet grade expectations, collaborating with the School Support Program.
• Utilise formative and summative assessments to monitor progress and provide feedback to students, parents and administration.
• Participate in grade‑level and cross‑grade team discussions to ensure consistent practice.
• Prepare formal report cards and conduct parent conferences.
• Maintain fair behaviour standards in line with the school Code of Conduct.
• Supervise students on‑site and off‑site during school‑related activities.
• Guide and motivate any classroom assistant assigned.
• Maintain accurate and legible records as required by school policy.

Required profile

• International experience or a respectful attitude toward other cultures.
• Experience with differentiated learning and student‑inquiry instruction.
• Experience in ESL education.
