About the role

The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) is seeking a Head of Accessibility Services. The role manages the accessibility needs of students with special abilities, coordinates accommodations across the university and supports faculty and staff in supporting these students.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the coaching caseload of registered students by advising and counselling on organisation and study skills, advocacy, family contact, record keeping and referrals.
• Manage documentation for determining reasonable accommodation, run intake meetings and coordinate accommodations between faculty, students and the Business Unit.
• Support incoming and newly admitted students with accessibility concerns through early intervention.
• Create and distribute accommodation notices and advise students and faculty of approved accommodations.
• Lead collaboration with campus partners to implement academic and testing accommodations for students with special abilities.
• Consult with faculty on individual cases and provide professional development on supporting students with documented special abilities.
• Support partnerships with external providers of services such as Braille, CART (closed captioning), sign language interpreters and case management software.
• Deliver presentations on accessible services to faculty, staff and administrators in Academic and Student Affairs.
• Provide professional development support and periodic performance reviews for direct subordinates under UDST's Employee Performance Management framework, and identify learning and development opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required; Master's degree and professional qualification preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience.
• Fluency in written and spoken English is required; fluency in written and spoken Arabic is preferred.
