HVAC Chiller Technician – Doha, Qatar

About the role

The HVAC Chiller Technician will work full‑time on‑site in Doha, Qatar, delivering installation, inspection, troubleshooting and repair of industrial chillers and related HVAC systems. The role ensures optimal performance, safety and reliability of critical building infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Install, inspect, calibrate and repair HVAC chillers, checking refrigerant levels and safety devices.
• Perform preventive maintenance and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
• Document service activities, maintain accurate parts and tool records, and follow HSEQ regulations.
• Coordinate with facility teams, support system upgrades or retrofits, and respond to emergency service calls.
• Prioritise work orders, prepare maintenance reports and ensure compliance with local safety standards.

Required profile

• Diploma in Heating, Ventilation and Air‑Conditioning or related technical field.
• More than five years of hands‑on experience maintaining industrial HVAC systems, preferably in oil & gas, petrochemical or similar hazardous environments.
• Proficiency in English for technical communication and report writing.
• Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting and practical plumbing skills for chilled‑water systems.
• Knowledge of electrical safety, EPA or equivalent refrigerant handling compliance, and ability to read technical drawings and manuals.

Required skills

• Interpretation of mechanical layout drawings and electrical wiring diagrams.
• Circuit tracing, control‑logic analysis and troubleshooting of 415 V live control circuits.
• PLC interface troubleshooting for HVAC/chiller control systems.
• Industrial HVAC troubleshooting, including chillers, sensors, relays, contactors, protection devices, actuators and motors.
• Understanding of hazardous‑area pressurisation, filtration systems and safe handling of chemicals.
• Installation, testing, commissioning and practical welding/soldering techniques.
