Instruction Librarian (Temporary, Non-Sponsored)

About the role

Georgetown University in Qatar is seeking a temporary Instruction Librarian to serve as the primary liaison and instructional partner for selected academic departments. The role focuses on delivering research and information‑literacy services that align with curriculum needs and enrich the campus community.

Key responsibilities

• Lead research and information‑literacy sessions for students, faculty, and staff across assigned programs.
• Design and deliver workshops, course‑integrated teaching, and advanced research consultations on database use, citation management, and AI literacy.
• Develop instructional materials and research guides using Springshare tools.
• Act as liaison librarian, collaborating with departments to evaluate and build library collections.
• Support cultural engagement by designing and promoting programs that enhance academic and community life.
• Promote innovative services that advance scholarly communication and information‑literacy initiatives.

Required profile

• Locally based candidate with existing sponsorship to live and work in Qatar.
• Experience in academic library instruction, liaison, and collection development.
• Ability to collaborate with faculty and contribute to outreach and cultural programs.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Springshare products (e.g., LibGuides, LibCal).
• Familiarity with citation‑management tools such as EndNote or Zotero.
• Competence in using research databases and supporting AI‑related literacy.
