International Tax Manager / Associate Director

About the role

KPMG Qatar is seeking an experienced tax professional to lead international tax advisory and corporate tax compliance engagements for multinational enterprises, family groups, sovereign‑related entities and regional businesses. The role combines technical advisory on cross‑border structuring, BEPS 2.0, Global Minimum Tax and M&A with hands‑on management of compliance portfolios.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage international tax advisory projects, including cross‑border structuring, holding and financing arrangements, reorganisations and M&A transactions.
• Advise clients on Pillar Two / Global Minimum Tax, tax treaty matters, permanent establishment issues and other international tax developments.
• Coordinate multi‑jurisdictional engagements with KPMG member firms worldwide and prepare technical memoranda, reports and presentations.
• Oversee a portfolio of corporate tax compliance engagements, review tax returns, provisions and related filings.
• Support clients in managing ongoing compliance obligations, tax authority interactions and identifying tax risks and planning opportunities.
• Act as a trusted advisor, develop long‑term client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.
• Coach, mentor and develop junior team members, review work and provide technical and commercial guidance.

Required profile

• 6–15 years of relevant experience, preferably with a Big Four firm in international tax advisory.
• Strong knowledge of international tax, BEPS, Pillar Two, tax treaties and corporate income tax compliance.
• Experience managing client relationships and leading project teams, preferably with exposure to the Middle East or GCC region.
• Excellent business and commercial acumen with a pragmatic, solution‑oriented approach.
• Strong people‑leadership and relationship‑management skills.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.
