Inventory Planning Specialist

About the role

As an Inventory Planning Specialist within Qatar Airways Catering Services, you will ensure the timely availability, accuracy and quality of catering inventory across the airline’s global operations. You will work closely with international suppliers, logistics, product development and multiple stakeholder teams to support a 24/7 aviation environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the full catering inventory catalogue, keeping all item data accurate and up‑to‑date.
• Develop and manage a global inventory forecast to support operational planning.
• Monitor inventory lifecycles and consumption trends to align stock availability with operational needs.
• Document inventory requirements in compliance with governance standards.
• Lead procurement of inventory items, avoiding stockouts while achieving the lowest possible unit cost.
• Manage global inventory levels and supplier backup stocks to optimise holding and protect continuity.
• Oversee warehouse contracts and stock‑control procedures in Doha and other international locations.
• Introduce new inventory items and retire obsolete stock across the network.
• Inspect new inventory deliveries for specification compliance and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with suppliers and logistics teams to optimise logistics costs and streamline transportation.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Head of Department.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to forecast demand and analyse consumption trends.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills to work with suppliers, logistics and internal teams.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate inventory data.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, 24/7 aviation environment.
